October 29, 1951 - February 27, 2026

Douglas McDonald passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on October 29, 1951, Doug lived a life centered on family, hard work, and quiet strength. He will be remembered for his steady presence, thoughtful guidance, and the wisdom he shared with those closest to him. Doug enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, travelling, gardening, and puttering around the yard. Whether working with his hands or sharing a drink and stories with family and friends, he found joy in keeping busy. He spent most of his career working in the oil patch, taking great pride in his strong work ethic and the many friendships he built along the way. He also took a brief reprieve from the patch as a sales manager with Eagle River Chrysler before finishing his career as a consultant when he retired in 2016. Doug shared a beautiful life with his wife, Emily. Together they celebrated 50 years of marriage in the fall of 2024. Over those years, they raised three boys and built a beautiful family together — a legacy Doug was deeply proud of. Their milestone anniversary reflected their lasting love, commitment, and partnership through every season of life. Doug is lovingly remembered by his wife, Emily; sons, Phillip (Kimberly) and Corey; cherished grandchildren, Connor and Kassidy McDonald; brother, Rick McDonald (Ruth); sister, Heather Johnson; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Curtis John McDonald; parents, John “Bert” Bertram McDonald and Sheila Muriel McDonald; and sister, Patricia Fischer. Doug's memory will live on in the stories we share, the lessons he taught and in the hearts of his loved ones who carry him forward. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
