She worked hard on the Leon Roszko Sr. family farm with chores and tending to her younger siblings. Elizabeth and Mike married in April 1955 homesteading in the Rangeton district to create the family farm, where she resided until her passing. Elizabeth was an incredibly hard-working, talented, resourceful, loving, and caring person. She could do anything imaginable and was never afraid to learn more or teach herself new things. She enjoyed working with the milking and beef cattle herds, raising geese, turkeys and chickens, growing beautiful vegetable and flower gardens, canning, cooking, winemaking, sewing, pottery, and the list goes on. Extremely generous with everything she had or made, she always ensured family, friends and guests were treated to an incredible meal and never left the farm without a load of fresh vegetables, preserves, butchered chickens, and more. Elizabeth was very proud of her family, and always placed aside her own needs for others despite enduring a life full of hard-work and many health challenges. Elizabeth, our “Mom” and “Baba” will be dearly missed, and we will forever hold fond memories of her in our hearts. Our family expresses thanks and appreciation for the care provided by the Mayerthorpe Healthcare Centre and the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute in Edmonton.
